welcome to popjack.net

What is popjack?

def. 1 - Context: the schoolyard game "jacks," played with 15 spiked metal tokens (see fig) and a rubber or polyurethane ball. Popjack is an advanced technique for inserting space between or among two or more tokens whose proximity causes collection in odd-numbered rounds (e.g. onesies, threesies, fivesies, etc.) to be unnecessarily complicated. Also called "kissies."

def. 2 - Context: http://www.popjack.net. My web-based sandbox, where I can learn about and experiment with programming, database design, parenting, etc, and share my projects and experiences in the technical and personal arenas. Also called "kissies".

Who is popjack?

Popjack is an online persona; IRL I'm a father, atheist, guitarist, gamer, oneirist, technologist, among other things.

What's there to do?

Hmmm...that's a good question. In the days of Web 2.0, where there is no homepage, only the mash-up, only the blog, only the CMS output, I'm not quite sure why I've chosen to actually post a "homepage." It seems quaint, I suppose, but hey, I'm oldschool, and this page is handcoded.
Since you're here, you may as well have a look around.

Out links get my personal endorsement. These are my sources for information, places, people, and portals that I think are worthwhile, or in the case of shopping sites, have my trust for their pricing service, content, etc.
